We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Construction Coordinator to support infrastructure telecommunications systems and construction design projects for Fairfax County. In this long-term contract role, you will collaborate with various county agencies, such as DPWES Capital Facilities, FMD, NCS, Police, and Fire Departments, to design and implement telecom cabling and circuit networks, smart building technology, and building automation systems.

This position involves working closely with construction architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution. You'll play a key role in advancing county-wide communications infrastructure to support voice, data, audio-video, and smart building technologies. Additionally, you’ll manage telecom service providers and ensure projects meet the county’s technical standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support infrastructure telecommunications systems and construction design projects.

• Work with county agencies to design telecom cabling and network infrastructure across county sites.

• Collaborate on in-building wired and wireless systems, building automation, IoT widgets, and smart building technologies.

• Coordinate with construction architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers.

• Work with county sponsors to gather requirements for implementing smart building technologies.

• Develop design specifications, project plans, and expenditure plans.

• Establish technical standards for IT building infrastructure design and installation.

• Oversee and inspect the installation of technology infrastructure in construction projects.

• Manage and prioritize the work of contractors and telecom service providers.

• Stay updated on IT industry innovations and respond to maintenance and emergency operations needs.
