Overview
The primary function of this position has two aspects see below. Our client will consider candidates with a strong background in one area and an interest in developing skills in the other.
Systems Engineering and Administration
The team designs, implements, and supports cloud/VM-based infrastructure for complex enterprise applications. They are involved in the full systems lifecycle, including tasks which go beyond basic setup including tuning, performance optimization, and advanced troubleshooting of system health issues.
Development Operations and Support -
The engineers provide troubleshooting services and 24x7 monitoring & support of cloud-based systems. They work with client development teams on an ongoing basis to perform production deployments, and to expand and enhance their systems using the latest in cloud-based technology.

Responsibilities
- Design, configure and deploy Web based applications for large scale deployments.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement caching/persistence tier applications.
- Automate administration tasks including configuration management.
- Administer build processes and code deployments via scripted source control builds or CI tools.
- Design and configure monitoring solutions and perform analysis of operational metrics.
- Work with Content Delivery Networks (e.g. Akamai)
- Configure load balancers, firewalls, security groups, and /or intrusion detection systems.
- Troubleshoot & triage problem reports and resolve or escalate as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service in the resolution of support tickets
- Participate in a 24x7 off-hours support rotation
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience.
- Strong UNIX/Linux system administration and scripting skills
- Experience with design & administration of highly available web application environments.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, including automation, configuration management and release management.
- Fast-thinking problem solver.
- Ability & willingness to perform off-hours upgrades, maintenance and support
- Ability to communicate with internal/external customers in the resolution of support issues.
