Infusion RN – Oncology Support Job description:
Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Must recognize physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participates in company-wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the organization’s Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Infusion RN Schedule & location:
- Dallas TX 75246 United States
- Position may travel between Dallas region sites only depending on needs for clinic
- 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M
Infusion RN Salary/Wage:
- Level RN 2 (requiring 3-5 yrs of experience) —Range $ 37.00 – 39.00 $/HR
- Level RN Sr (requiring at least 5 yrs of experience) — Range $39.00 – 44.00 $/HR
Infusion RN Duties:
- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
- Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
- Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
- Facilitates dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
- Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central lines catheter devices.
- Maintains accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
- Applies knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Infusion RN Required Qualification
- RN state license and current registration with the Texas State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Chemo infusion experience
- 3-5yrs as a nurse (Prefer to be at least 2 yrs. in oncology) and at least 1 year in infusion and administering chemotherapy/Immunotherapy.
- Level RN 2 requiring 3-5 yrs. of experience.
- Level RN Sr requiring at least 5 yrs. of experience.
- Position may travel between Dallas region sites only depending on needs for clinic.
- Good IV skills, experience accessing port devices, Compassionate, Independent worker, Educator.
Infusion RN Physical Requirements:

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
