Process Job Description
Job Title: Initial Millwork Team Lead
Location: Marshfield MO
Function: Operations / Production
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Shift: 1st shift – 5am to 3:30pm
Shift: Monday to Thursday 4/10, overtime on Friday/Saturday

Job Output:
This employee is responsible for ensuring and maintaining all manufacturing standards, ensuring work schedules are accomplished and manpower is scheduled accordingly. Promotes and governs a safe working environment. Supports and enforces company policy. Mentors and coaches employees on all aspects of production, safety, quality, cost, delivery. Provides guidance for his/her team, on custom components that meet given specifications.
Reports directly to the Production Supervisor. This role is also capable of performing duties of the Production Supervisor when away (refer to Process Job Description for Production Supervisor)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the followin
Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct the work activities of 2-25 employees
• Conduct morning huddles with staff to give daily direction and goals
• Update and prepare Gemba and Planner boards each morning for the Gemba walk.
• Own and sign-off on the accuracy of 1st piece and while running checklists to ensure the 100% quality of products that leave your area.
• Assist with employee interviews, reviews, 30/60/90-day check ins with new hires.
• Ensure all employees are at workstation on-time and on-task.
• Work with Engineering & Quality groups to solve issues on the floor.
• Work with the materials & scheduling groups to schedule and tend to parts issues.
• Ensure that all parts that leave department are counted & verified vs. drawing requirements
• Perform routine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service duties to include: operation of machinery (moulders, gang ripsaw, planer, shaper cut-off saws, widebelt sander, optisander), setup of complex tooling and equipment, completion of reports and logs, follow-up on work schedules
• Interpret process sheets for workers
• Read measuring instruments.
• Must ensure area is clean and organized at the end of shift
• Must communicate with direct reports, give recognition, and give direction.
• Must communicate with the Safety department to ensure all safety and OSHA 1910 standards are followed.
• Must communicate with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are followed.
• Must communicate with Human Resources to ensure all legal standards are followed.
• Understand softwood and hardwood lumber…sources, grades, natural characteristics of species, identification of species, etc.

Education and/or Experience
• Minimum GED or High School diploma
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Preferred: CPR/AED/1st Aid, OSHA 10 Hour, MDI Supervisor Certification

About the location (Marshfield MO)
Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI), a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI), is one of twelve AWI plants in North America. Our Marshfield plant in south western Missouri is conveniently located within 3 hours to large cities such as Tulsa, Kansas City, and St. Louis as well as within 30 minutes to the smaller city of Springfield.
