We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to take on the Injection Molding Supervisor role. This role will oversee the technical aspects of injection molding processes and assist in planning and scheduling to ensure efficient production and meet customer demands. The ideal candidate is a former setup technician with a desire to lead a team of 20+ individuals and possesses strong planning and scheduling experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership: Supervise the setup, operation, and optimization of injection molding processes, ensuring machine and tooling efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Direct technicians in process adjustments to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and maintain high product quality.
- Troubleshooting: Lead efforts in resolving technical challenges, minimizing downtime and collaborating with maintenance teams.
- Tooling Oversight: Manage mold maintenance and coordinate with tooling teams for repairs and preventive care.
- Scheduling & Resource Management: Work closely with planning teams to develop and coordinate resource schedules, maximizing machine utilization and minimizing delays.
- Shift Management: Schedule and manage a technical team across multiple shifts, ensuring sufficient coverage and addressing overtime needs as necessary.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production schedules, process adjustments, and machine utilization, and provide regular updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in injection molding, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or scheduling role.
Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of injection molding machines, tooling, and materials.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting control plans and technical documentation.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead a team and coordinate schedules.
- Experience with ERP systems (IQMS a plus).
- Physical Requirements: Able to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and occasional heavy lifting.
