Job Summary:
Full responsibility for the efficient operation and quality of product from the Digital Inkjet press.
3rd Shift: 12am-8am, Sunday-Thursday. There is an additional 8% differential for 3rd shift.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.
- Read and understand any and all instructions prior to beginning the processing of any job
- Complete set-up and operate equipment including the print engine, unwinder, priming unit, stacker, and finishing unit
- Perform required maintenance, both preventative and corrective, on all aspects of the press
- Give direction to the machine crew, provide leadership when necessary
- Monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer satisfaction, identify visual defects and apply correction as necessary
- Maintain accurate record keeping on TSP timesheets, material usage sheets, log books and PM schedules
- Accurately communicate to the next shift and other co-workers the status of jobs being processed
- Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE’s, Ergonomics, and etc.
- Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
- Assist with housekeeping in the digital area
- Train other personnel as instructed
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year digital or offset press experience
- Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Good mechanical and math skills,
- At minimum, intermediate knowledge of computer operated machines,
- General knowledge of color theory and the use of densitometers,
- Knowledge of paper, ink, and general pressroom materials,
- Attention to detail; demonstrate sound business and professional ethics
Physical Requirements
- Continuous standing and walking
- Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50lb
- Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
