Inpatient Pharmacist Compensation

• The pay for this position is $55 - $63 per hour based on experience
• Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment
• A 401(k) with a company match is available for full-time employees with 1 year of service on our eligibility dates

Inpatient Pharmacist Highlights

• Primary shifts needed for this position will be 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and/or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
• Weekend requirements: Will work 8 weekends per contract
• On-Call requirements: None
• No floating requirements
• Type of Facility: Acute Care Hospital

Inpatient Pharmacist Responsibilities

• Review medication orders for appropriateness and accuracy
• Ensure proper medication dosing based on patient-specific factors
• Monitor patient drug therapies for efficacy and safety
• Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient care discussions
• Educate healthcare staff about medication management and new therapies
• Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with hospital protocols
• Collaborate with physicians to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Conduct medication reconciliation during admissions and discharges
• Manage adverse drug reactions and medication errors
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to medication use
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of medication therapies
• Counsel patients on medication use and potential side effects
• Stay updated on new medications and clinical guidelines
• Train and supervise pharmacy interns and technicians
• Contribute to the development of clinical pathways and protocols.

Inpatient Pharmacist Requirements

• Certification Requirements : BCPS, BLS, Board Certified, and State License required.
• Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days
• IL state license required to apply OR must have active application with ETA.
• Special Requirements : Inpatient / Acute care experience required.
• Required Dosing Skills/Experience : Anticoagulants, Cardiac dosing, Clinical dosing, Geriatric dosing, High risk medications, Pediatric dosing, Pharmacokinetic dosing, Psychotherapeutic Management, Renal dosing, Therapeutic med monitoring.
• Pyxis experience required.
• Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist experience Required.
