Job Description:
IDEAL was recently awarded a large government cooperative purchasing agreement and is seeking a highly motivated Inside Sales Representative (ISR) – Government IT that will thrive in a highly technical environment, possesses IT sales or sales support experience, can manage multiple and a variety of opportunities at once and has a strong desire to be part of a team. This position requires strong relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills and management of customer and vendor relationships. ISR will be responsible for the entire sales cycle and will develop business by working existing contract-related opportunities, as generated through our marketing efforts, as well as hunting for new opportunities by leveraging the government cooperative contract vehicle within an assigned territory. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
The Inside Sales Representative initiates contact with prospects and existing clients to sell our products and solutions and support the client throughout the entire sales cycle. ISR will continuously develop relationships by exploring client’s ongoing needs and recommending products and solutions. The ISR will respond to inquiries for product quotations and proposals by working with our large vendor partner network and internal resources.
- Respond to opportunities provided by our contract marketing efforts
- Prospect and uncover new sales opportunities within defined Government markets
- Provide complete sales cycle activities to include product sourcing, pricing, and price negotiations, prepare quotations and proposals, configuration building and verification, and sales order preparation
- Work with our Vendor Partner Network to provide or design a desired solution
- Work with distributors and manufacturers to obtain best pricing
- Review RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ’s to determine which opportunities to pursue based on our capabilities, contracts, small business statuses and etc.
- Develop relationships with procurement, diversity managers/directors, program, and project managers and to sell our portfolio of products and technology solutions and services
- Respond to and resolve issues in a timely manner; aiming to customer contentment and the preservation of the company’s reputation
- Work within CRM (Salesforce) to track all customer and vendor activities
- Follow established company policies
- Analyze duties and seek improvements in efficiency and productivity
- Maintain consistent communication with all parties including end-users or clients, as well as internal management hierarchy, sales team, and order processing team
- Participate in ongoing sales planning and training meetings
- Seek opportunities to continuously learn new and emerging technologies
Minimum Candidate Qualifications:
- 5+ years of IT product and solution sales to government customers to include State, Local, Education, and Non-profit
- Knowledge of a wide breadth of technology-related products and solutions
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience developing accounts and responding to RFP’s
- Experience with government contracts to include FAR’s, DFAR’s and government subcontracting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and negotiation skills
IDEAL provides a complete benefits package including but not limited to health, disability and life insurance, retirement plan, personal time-off and holiday pay. Compensation is base plus commission (approximately 60/40).
