Job Description:
The Quality Inspector will be responsible for performing thorough inspections and tests to ensure that products and materials meet required standards of quality. This role involves conducting final inspections, in-process inspections, and inspecting incoming raw materials. The ideal candidate will have experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and X-ray inspection equipment, although this is preferred but not required. Additionally, the inspector will support various quality and administrative functions, including product audits, process audits, document control, and data entry.
Responsibilities:
- Final Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before they are shipped or used in production.
- In-Process Inspection: Monitor and inspect products during the manufacturing process to identify and address any defects or deviations from specifications in real-time.
- Incoming Raw Material Inspection: Verify the quality and compliance of raw materials upon receipt, ensuring they meet predefined criteria before they are used in production.
- Testing: Perform various tests as required to assess the quality and functionality of products and materials, including physical, chemical, and mechanical tests.
- Equipment Operation: (Preferred) Utilize Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and X-ray inspection equipment to perform precise measurements and inspections. Training will be provided if experience is not already possessed.
- Product Audits: Conduct regular audits of products to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Process Audits: Evaluate and audit manufacturing processes to ensure they adhere to quality control procedures and standards.
- Document Control: Maintain and organize quality documentation, including inspection records, test results, and compliance reports, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Data Entry: Accurately enter inspection and testing data into relevant systems or databases, ensuring all information is up-to-date and correctly recorded.
- Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks related to quality assurance, including report generation, tracking of quality metrics, and coordination with other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a quality inspection role is preferred. Familiarity with CMM and X-ray inspection equipment is advantageous but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspections and testing.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using measurement tools and inspection equipment.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Basic knowledge of quality control principles and methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Proficiency in data entry and document management.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods during inspections.
- Capable of lifting and handling materials and equipment as needed.
Pay Range: $20-25 per hour (DOE)
