PSI is seeking to hire a Construction Inspector with knowledge and experience of VA construction standards and practices. The ideal candidate will have at least 2-4 years of experience performing construction inspections in Virginia. The Construction Inspector will inspect the construction as it is performed by the contractor, documenting all work performed and any issues that arise. The Construction Inspector will ensure accountability, accuracy, and compliance during construction.
Expected Duties:
- Scan and upload inspection reports, photos, and material tickets daily
- Maintain inspection records and record pertinent data regarding equipment, material, and labor
- Submit Inspector Daily Reports (IDR) daily to the Construction Manager for approval and countersignature
- Inspect and coordinate all construction activities at the project, resolve field construction problems, and provide input for changes
- Inspect contractor's work to ensure the work complies with the requirements of the contract for construction and approved project construction contract documents
- Monitor all testing and maintain all records of testing, certification, and all other quantity records
- Check and verify the layout of work sites
- Observe work and maintain daily reports including a log of visitors and the time and purpose of visits
- Complete punch list at the closeout of the job site
Required Skills & Experience:
- Certifications for Asphalt Field, Concrete Field, and Soils and Aggregate Compaction from local or national certification programs such as VDOT, ACI, NICET, or MARTCP
- Inspection experience in Virginia
- Familiarity with VDOT construction standards and procedures
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability and desire to operate professionally in a team environment
- Must be able to commute to job sites near Richmond
