This position is for an Entry Level UT Inspector. Inspectors will be required to learn all aspects of UT volumetric inspection, and obtain both UT Level I and UT Level II certifications. Once certified the inspector will be required to perform inspections throughout the facility.
Candidates will be required to be trained in the Quality Assurance systems, procedures, policies, and specifications and will perform ultrasonic inspection on welds, parts, components in various areas including on the hull sections. This will include structural and piping. Types of inspections may also include visual, dimensional and other nondestructive test attributes. Inspectors will also be required to verify and certify work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications and record and report inspection results.
The successful candidate must be able to work all shifts, weekends and overtime as required.
This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
Qualifications:Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of previous shipyard or similar manufacturing experience or UT Inspection
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Applicant must be able to interpret technical manuals, shipyard procedures, test documents, diagrams and understand basic layout functions
- Must be able to work all shifts, heights, confined spaces and extreme temperature conditions as required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the department of defense
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Level I and Level II UT certification
Preferred:
- Previous UT experience
- Current or previous certification as Level I/II UT Shear Wave
- Shipyard experience
- Military/Navy experience
- Additional preference given for Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
