Position Overview:
As an Installation Manager, you’ll lead a team of skilled installers, ensuring that all door installations meet our company’s high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. This hands-on role involves direct participation in door installations, setting an example for the team. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, this position is key in delivering outstanding customer experiences and involves close coordination with our door shop team to maintain a seamless installation process. You’ll drive productivity, oversee quality assurance, build client relationships, and emphasize team training and development to create a high-performance installation department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Organize, schedule, and lead door installation teams, ensuring projects meet timelines and maintain high standards of safety and quality.
- Quality Assurance & Inspection: Oversee detailed inspections of all installations to ensure they meet stringent company standards, including precision fit, functionality, and weatherproofing.
- Customer Service Excellence: Set standards for customer service and act as a model for the installation team, ensuring clear, professional communication with clients on-site.
- Safety Protocols: Enforce all safety protocols, ensuring team members use proper protective equipment and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
- Training & Development: Onboard, train, and mentor new team members, promoting best practices and reinforcing quality and safety protocols.
- Technical Blueprint Interpretation: Provide advanced guidance on interpreting blueprints and installation instructions, ensuring installations align with precise technical specifications.
- Cross-functional Coordination: Collaborate with the door shop team to align project needs, proactively address any product or scheduling concerns, and ensure necessary components are available.
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Develop and oversee protocols for job site preparation and cleanliness, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Tools and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that all tools, machinery, and vehicles are in optimal working condition, conducting routine checks, and addressing issues as they arise.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain organized records of installations, document project milestones, and provide timely reports to upper management to track progress and support continuous improvement.
- Weekly Job Site Inspections: Conduct weekly job site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and project completeness. Additionally, Installation Managers are responsible for ensuring that all job sites are left in impeccable condition upon project completion, showcasing Zarsky’s commitment to quality and professionalism.
- Collaborative Support: Be adaptable and open to assisting with additional tasks as assigned to support the evolving needs of the installation department and contribute to company objectives..
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated expertise in door installations with prior supervisory experience, showcasing strong leadership and team development skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in interpreting blueprints, technical specifications, and installation guidelines.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Skilled at identifying installation challenges and implementing practical solutions.
- Client-focused: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional client experiences.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation.
Expectations & Appearance:
To represent Zarsky Building Supply professionally, all Installation Managers are expected to adhere to our appearance and uniform standards. This includes wearing a Zarsky-branded collared shirt, tan or grey shorts or khakis, and a Zarsky-branded hat, with boots required for safety. Maintaining a clean, neat appearance and presenting a polished image to clients is essential.

This includes, but is not limited to, operating or assisting in any side business related to door installations or building materials that could compete with or affect Zarsky’s operations. Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of industry-specific software, including spreadsheet and reporting tools, for tracking projects and managing data.
- Previous experience developing or implementing installation programs or protocols.
