BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA). The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire Instructional Coaches to oversee Tutor performance and provide guidance to Tutors during its school-year program. Tutoring sites will be located in schools throughout the state.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Coordinate with the Site Coordinator and develop strong relationships with the site staff and community, as appropriate.
Ensure that Tutors are using all materials needed to help scholars succeed.
Observe tutoring and provide constructive feedback to tutors.
Work closely with program staff and participate in bi-weekly meetings with other Coaches.
Apprise the program leadership team of issues immediately and help work to resolve them.
Work with Site Coordinators assigned to sites to review tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.
Other assigned duties as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s or Master's degree (Education field preferred but not required)
Standard certificate, certificate of eligibility (CE), or certificate of eligibility with advanced standing (CEAS)
Experience teaching
New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
MUST have a Gmail email address or be willing to create a Gmail account; and experience with Google Suite applications: Google Doc, Sheets and Forms.
Employees are encouraged to use their private computer device(s) to perform work related assignments, if necessary employees can ask for a company loaner.
Past history of overseeing the work of others
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and proven ability of conflict resolution skills;
Undergo background check for I9 status to work in the United States, criminal history check (fingerprints) or provide fingerprint certificate if criminal history check is already in place
EMPLOYER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must adhere to local health department and school district requirements for the site at which you are working, including any mask rules that must be followed if applicable;
Some knowledge of the implementation of the Danielson Framework

Embedded school days tutoring program
Maximum hours to not exceed 16 hours per week.
Program ends May 2025
