About the Job
Training Design and Development:
• Design and develop instructional materials, including course summary sheets, learning objectives, course outlines, storyboards, video scripts, and other supporting documents for training deliverables.
• Ensure that learning materials are clear, engaging, and aligned with specific learning outcomes.
• Design and develop interactive, SCORM-compliant, Section 508-compliant webinars.
• Design multimedia assets, including two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics, motion graphics, and videos.
• Design and develop online, interactive training materials in various formats, including printable job aids, microlearning, videos, and eLearning courses.
Collaboration and Consultation:
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather content and ensure the accuracy and relevancy of learning materials.
• Work closely with stakeholders, including leadership teams and learners, to understand learning needs and objectives.
• Consult on learning technologies and platforms to select the best fit for course delivery.
Learning Technology Integration:
• Use learning management systems (LMS) to deploy courses and track learner progress.
• Program interactive, SCORM-compliant, Section 508-compliant mini-lessons and full-length eLearning courses in designated software (e.g., Lectora, Adobe, Captivate, Opigno).
Assessment and Evaluation:
• Develop formative and summative assessments to evaluate learners’ understanding of the content.
• Analyze learner data to assess the effectiveness of instructional interventions and make necessary improvements.
• Conduct pilot tests (as needed) and collect feedback from learners and program leadership to optimize learning materials.
Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in instructional design, adult learning theory, and eLearning technology.
• Recommend and implement innovations that enhance the overall learning experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (4-6 years) in supporting public health instructional design projects or similar roles.
• Experience with instructional design models and adult learning theories.
• Proficiency in eLearning development tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Lectora, etc.).
• Experience working with learning management systems (LMS).
• Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze learner needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Certification in Instructional Design or related fields.
• Experience with video editing software and multimedia content creation.
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles as applied to learning technologies.
• Experience supporting federal or state government agencies, particularly public-health focused agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
