General Information & Responsibilities
Supports faculty in the design of engaging and effective learning environments. Promotes quality course design emphasizing interactive learning across all delivery modalities and media. Assists faculty with the creation, design and support of courses and programs. Promotes the effective use of teaching and learning technologies and strategies throughout the college. Builds effective relationships with faculty and staff to promote growth and success for all academic programs.
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provides pedagogical and instructional design consultation and support to BHC faculty on course development projects
Works with and assists faculty and staff to create online modules using a variety of instructional tools including but not limited to video, audio, graphics, and web resources
Recommends instructional methods and tools appropriate to the course goals and objectives, content and learners
Prepares and guides faculty to deliver online courses successfully
Develops and facilitates workshops in support of faculty development initiatives throughout the College
Supports accessibility of online resources and ADA compliance
Builds and maintains quality online course shells within the College's learning management system (LMS) in accordance with the BHC standard
Brings new initiatives and/or best practices to the College in areas including, but not limited to, instructional design, online delivery, course development and technology integration
Provides coverage/ staffing for Teaching and Learning Center
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
Serves effectively on BHC committees
Establishes and maintains positive and professional working relationships with all College affiliates
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
Master's degree in instructional technology, instructional design, distance learning, interactive media or related field required, Doctorate preferred.
Evidence of successful application of instructional design theory and instructional development
Previous experience with a Learning Management System, Canvas preferred
Specific experience in course development, distance learning, and the application of instructional design principles to create effective learning environments required.
Teaching experience within a higher education academic environment preferred.
Evidence of skills in creating multimedia learning artifacts preferred.
