Instructional Technician - Curriculum

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Provide a variety of complex technical assistance in support of the District’s curriculum functions which may include, but are not necessarily limited to, supporting the Co-Chair of the Curriculum Committee to evaluate curriculum proposals to ensure specified local and state guidelines are met; tracking the progress of curriculum proposals throughout the approval process and according to adopted timelines; maintaining appropriate records of Curriculum Committee and Technical Review; maintaining course outlines of record; tracking new and deactivated certificate/degree programs and courses.
- Assist in the research, preparation and compilation of various reports.
- Assist in the administration, maintenance and verification of accuracy and integrity of data of department databases and web pages to comply with appropriate instructional district policies and procedures, laws and regulations. Maintain current knowledge of the California Community College Chancellor’s Office curriculum inventory systems.
- Assist with the development, preparation, maintenance and distribution, at both the District and State level, of district courses, course outlines, curriculum approvals, program information, textbook information, catalog addendum and various policies and procedures as they relate to the District curriculum functions and departments.
- Assist in the development and revision of standard forms, fliers and documents.
- Attend meetings as assigned and provides administrative staff support, including taking notes and preparing minutes.
- Assist in the maintenance and retention of department records.
- Assist as needed with routine clerical tasks associated with the Instruction offices such as scheduling, curriculum, faculty assignment sheets, absence and in-service tracking, posting of notices, coordination of field trips, travel, expenses, and budget maintenance.
- Perform a variety of routine clerical and administrative tasks which may include, but are not necessarily limited to, responding to inquiries and requests, drafting and disseminating correspondence, processing mail, performing data entry, proofreading, typing, copying, scanning and filing documents, ordering and maintaining office supplies, collecting and distributing documents and supplies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
An applicant can meet minimum qualifications in one of two ways as listed below:
- High school diploma or equivalent and four (4) years of clerical experience using modern office technology including proficiency with database, spreadsheet and word processing software such as Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.
- Associate Degree or equivalent and two (2) years of clerical experience using modern office technology including proficiency with database, spreadsheet and word processing software such as Microsoft Access, Excel and Word.

Physical Requirements:
- Vision sufficient to read documents and computer terminal displays.
- Speech and hearing to communicate in person or by telephone.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to use a variety of office equipment, computer keyboards and to handle paper.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds such as paper and reports.
- Ability to bend and reach to retrieve and file supplies, equipment and documents.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Assignments are typically 40 hours per week and 12 months per year. May require over-time or evening hours throughout the year.
Work is generally performed indoors but may involve traveling to district or county offices to complete assignments or for research, workshops, training or meetings.
Pay Range
Range 24 on the Classified Employees Salary Schedule, $28.43-$32.91 per hour. This is at part-time position and does not qualify for participation in the District's benefits programs.
