What You Will Do
The Training System Administrator is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the UTrain Administrator Training Program at Los Alamos National Laboratory. This role focuses on supporting UTrain training administrators by ensuring they are well-equipped to minimize risk to the system through proper training and system management. The Training System Administrator also supports institutional training revisions and item upkeep. The role ensures alignment between program objectives and organizational needs, handling system administration, reporting, and program improvements, while maintaining compliance with institutional training goals.

Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in White Rock, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

- Program Development & Management: Supports the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the UTrain Administrator Training Program, ensuring administrators are well-trained to minimize system risks.
- System Administration & Content Upkeep: Perform UTrain LMS administrative functions, including content object configurations, course uploads, generating reports, and supporting the revisions and upkeep of institutional training items to ensure they are current and aligned with organizational standards. Employing process management strategies to maintain and coordinate revision schedules regularly.
- Backup Instruction: Provide backup instruction for UTrain Administrator courses when needed, ensuring continuity of training.
- Reporting & Analytics: Generate, analyze, and present training data and reports to stakeholders, helping to assess program effectiveness and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Collaboration & Compliance: Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure the program meets compliance requirements, while leading system updates and improvements.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Strong understanding of UTrain LMS administration, including content object configurations, course uploads, and generating reports to support training needs and compliance.
- Knowledge of instructional design processes and the ability to provide backup instruction for UTrain Administrator courses.
- Expertise in supporting the revision and upkeep of institutional training items, ensuring content is current and aligned with organizational standards.
- Proficiency in generating and interpreting training metrics, reports, and analytics to assess program effectiveness.
- Comprehensive understanding of compliance with DOE standards and institutional training protocols.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to meet program goals and ensure alignment with institutional objectives.
