Position Overview
Our team is currently looking for an Instrument/Electrical Technician for a client in the Oil and Gas industry.
The I&E Technician is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and reliable operation of instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Safety and Compliance:
- Participate in Life Critical Safety program and adhere to all safety, health, and environmental procedures.
- Follow process safety management practices and report any deficiencies.
- Work in compliance with standard operating/maintenance procedures, including safe work permits, energy control isolation, confined space entry, hot work, and safety inspections.
- Understand and apply plant safety rules, company safety policies, and governmental regulations, including Food Safety, FDA, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP), and environmental compliance.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrument, electrical, and control system problems.
- Execute work orders, identify and enter maintenance activities in Maximo CMMS.
- Perform and improve the facility’s Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) preventive maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment and analyzers; keep records up to date.
- Maintain equipment records in CMMS and written formats.
Documentation and Improvement:
- Suggest improvements for plant safety, efficiency, and quality.
- Maintain facility documentation (P&ID, loop sheets, spec sheets) for approved changes.
- Assist with root cause analysis and help maintain equipment manuals.
Contractor Oversight:
- Work with and monitor contractors to ensure the quality of their work.
General Duties:
- Rack in/out breakers and switchgear as needed.
- Perform routine equipment inspections following Reliability Center standards.
- Stay familiar with Reliability, Maintenance, and corporate standards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the I&E Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):
Education and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 2-year instrumentation certificate preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) systems.
- Working knowledge of instrumentation and analyzers.
- Maximo CMMS experience is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including holidays and weekends.
- Demonstrate understanding of all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) issues associated with the facility.
