We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Instrument Technologist at our Midland, Michigan location.
This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing instrument equipment within our Maintenance Work Process.
This is an onsite position based in Midland, MI, with a "9/80" schedule (working 80 hours over 9 days, consisting of 9-hour days Monday-Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM, and 8 hours on alternating Fridays, with every other Friday off).
Responsibilities:The Maintenance Instrument Technologist will provide/use Instrument expertise to complete:
- Provide instrument support for all Trinseo facilities in Midland, Michigan
- Maintain, repair, and install instrument equipment used in chemical processing
- Read and interpret various types of diagrams, including instrument, logic, loop, and single-line
- Set up, calibrate, test, and repair a variety of electrical controls and instruments
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and assist in documenting failure analysis
- Perform minor design work and modifications to existing or new equipment
- Collect operational data to support reliability improvements
- Assist plant personnel in reducing instrument/electrical (I/E) maintenance costs
- Help develop equipment strategies for critical instrumentation systems
- Adhere to plant safety policies and participate in safety initiatives
- Occasionally respond to off-hours plant support calls
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of Instrument/Electrical technical experience, postsecondary training with an emphasis on Instrument/Electrical, 3+ years of relevant military experience, OR 5+ years of experience as a Chemical Plant Operator
- Willingness and availability to work overtime, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license

What Can Make You Stand Out:
- Journeyman Instrument License (training provided for the right candidate)
- Journeyman Electrician License
- 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Familiarity with ABB systems
- Knowledge of modern instrument technology
Physical Requirements
Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
