Position Overview: We are actively seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. This role involves collaborating with programmers, designers, and the OAC team to develop and manage advanced instrumentation and control systems for various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with programmers to create effective instrumentation and controls logic.
- Review and interpret project documents, proposals, and specifications to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
- Assess life safety and regulatory requirements, including CA Fire Code, CA and National Electrical Code, NFPA, and hazardous location standards.
- Collaborate with AutoCAD and Revit designers to create system layouts, block diagrams, and wiring schematics for monitoring and control systems.
- Specify and select equipment such as gas detectors, alarms, instrumentation, process safety interlocks, PLCs, and other automation components.
- Oversee project management tasks, including proposal preparation, defining scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets, while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Coordinate with the OAC team for field installation, testing, and inspections, emphasizing customer service, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- EIT certification with the ability to obtain a PE license in CA.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent work experience and certifications demonstrating a commitment to professional development.
- Strong understanding of control systems architecture, networks, and process controls.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting control systems.
