About the Job
This is a full-time position that is responsible for the specification, installation, testing and repair of all types of electrical and electronic equipment used in the operations of crude and refined products pipelines, including pumps, motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, flow computers and programmable logic controllers (PLC). To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities:- Specifying, installing and programming all types of PLC, flow computers and other metering and communication equipment.
- Taking measurements, performing regulatory equipment inspections, and completing other duties required for daily terminal operations.
- Using computers to complete compliance documentation responsibilities.
- Staying actively involved in the Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs.
- Anticipating problems that might arise and planning for them before leaving for the job site.
- Routinely performing safety observations and attending technical, developmental and safety trainings.
- Being on-call on a rotational basis and responding to calls twenty-four/seven (24/7) for emergency response.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A two (2)-year technical degree or high school diploma (or equivalent education) with three (3) years of experience working on all types of industrial electrical and electronic equipment, including but not limited to motors, valves, actuators, Smith Accuload product loading systems, meters, transmitters, flow computers, HMI terminals, VFD and PLC equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- OSHA and NFPA 70E experience.
- General electrical skills (AC/DC Voltages) with proven ability to test voltages of three (3)-phase power up to 4160 volts.
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and ability to learn to use proprietary databases.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Possession of a journeyman’s license for states of operation through testing or reciprocation, or the ability to acquire licensing within one (1) year.
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
