Position Title: Instrumentation Technician II
Location: Fayetteville, GA

About the Role:
Selectek has a full-time opportunity for an Instrumentation Technician II to join an Engineering Firm specializing in Automation. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing a variety of services on instrumentation and control systems used in the automation of industrial processes. If you have hands-on experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, a solid understanding of instrumentation, and a passion for automation, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of instrumentation and automation services, including troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
- Repair and calibrate instrumentation using a variety of meters and tools.
- Set up new instrumentation and calibrate to specifications using schematics and drawings.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
- Assist with installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
- Use computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce reports.
- Terminate IO cables at instrumentation and PLC enclosures.
- Terminate serial and Ethernet communications cables at equipment or Ethernet switches.
- Conduct point-to-point loop checks from instrumentation to PLC and HMI.
- Work with data center equipment and perform fiber optic terminations with fusion kits.
- Utilize a TDR for testing connections and perform CAT5 or CAT6 terminations and testing.
- Collaborate with engineers in testing and commissioning PLC systems.
- Travel to customer sites to provide services as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Allen Bradley PLC input and output modules.
- Thorough understanding of speed feedback devices theory and operation.
- Understanding of temperature control and temperature components.
- Good understanding of PID and control loops.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet communications and connections.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical components and electronic devices.
- Ability to diagnose defective components, motors, drives, and electronic components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment.
