About the Job
The Insurance Clerk performs a variety of office clerical duties in connection with inpatient and outpatient insurance billings and payments. The insurance clerk also assists with coverage of hospital switchboard.
Essential Functions:
-Records and maintains complete and accurate transactions and patient billing information in the Hospital’s billing system in order to submit timely and accurate bills to patients and third parties.
-Processes work-lists and reports as may be assigned according to established procedures.
-Responds in a timely manner to questions or request for information received from Hospital departments, other staff members, patients and insurance companies.
-Submits bills to patients and third parties as may be assigned according to established procedures.
-Performs other task/functions as may be assigned.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Qualifications:Education and Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to listen to others
- Demonstrated written communication skills
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent organizational skills
