Job Description:
A reputable law firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal with 3-6 years of experience to join their team. This is an in-office position where the successful candidate will play a key role in managing a caseload, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and assisting attorneys with trial preparation. The firm handles a wide range of insurance defense cases, and the ideal candidate should be proficient in using legal software such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload and ensure all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
- Conduct legal research using tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategy.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Prepare depositions and assist with trial preparation.
- Organize and manage case files, including discovery and evidence.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
- Maintain client communication and keep clients informed on case developments.
- Assist with settlement negotiations and prepare materials for settlements or trial.
- Handle document management and ensure compliance with legal procedures.
Qualifications:
- 3-6 years of experience as an Insurance Defense Paralegal.
- Strong proficiency in legal research and case management, using Westlaw and LexisNexis.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload and work independently while collaborating with attorneys.
- Experience with pleadings, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- In-office position, so local candidates are preferred.
Salary and Benefits:
