Job Description:
- The Insurance Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating insurance-related tasks to ensure efficient and accurate billing processes.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental insurance policies, claims processing, and customer service.
- This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with both patients and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments.
- Submit and process dental insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure prompt resolution.
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and team members to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient insurance records in the practice management software.
- Assist patients with insurance-related questions and concerns.
- Coordinate pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in dental insurance policies and procedures.
- Provide support for other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental insurance billing and claims processing.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, procedures, and coding (CPT, ICD-10, and ADA codes).
- Proficiency with dental practice management software and electronic claims submission.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
