Job Title: Insurance Specialist - Workers' Compensation and Claims
Location: Conshohocken, PA
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Compensation: $36.43 per hour, depending on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Insurance Specialist for our client in Conshohocken, PA. This position is integral to managing workers' compensation and liability claims across multiple states, ensuring compliance with global insurance guidelines, and effectively coordinating with various stakeholders to support optimal claim outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Workers' Compensation Management
Oversee and monitor large, complex, and litigated workers' compensation claims, especially across multiple states, with an emphasis on California.
Coordination with Global Business Office (GBO): Address doctor and insurance company issues, handle denials of non-job-related claims, and resolve workers' compensation process concerns.
Collaboration with Location Property & Casualty (P&C): Manage return-to-work matters and process-related ssues.
Legal and Outside Counsel Coordination: Work with Legal on employment terminations tied to claims and collaborate with outside counsel for voluntary resignations.
Approvals Oversight: Authorize nurse case management, reserve increases, and surveillance as necessary.
Lead monthly claims review meetings with stakeholders to ensure claim status updates and action items are addressed.
Insurance and Claims Administration
Manage and ensure compliance with all mandatory insurance policies, coordinating with local brokers and Group functions on complex claims.
Handle general and auto liability claims; review certificates of insurance and assess risk for accurate claims documentation and action.
Ensure coordination of risk engineering services and timely reporting of insured values for premium calculations.
Provide insurance advice to business leaders and maintain updates to the global insurance department on claims impacting insured amounts or risk profiles.
Qualifications:
Education: University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Law, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in the insurance industry, with experience in negotiating and administering complex claims, particularly in workers' compensation.
Technical Knowledge: Proficient with Outlook and Liberty Mutual RiskTrac systems, with strong experience in multi-state claims, especially California.
Skills:
Insurance Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate insurance structures, claims management, and policy agreements.
Analytical Abilities: Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Communication and Networking: Clear communication skills to manage diverse insurance and legal relationships effectively.
Negotiation and Influence: Proven ability to negotiate claims and influence outcomes across stakeholders.
Performance Indicators:
Aligns with corporate financial strategy, retail direction, and insurance business plans.
Achieves individual and business goals as defined in the yearly development plan.
