Summary The Integrations Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of system-to-system and manual-to-system data integrations within our core platforms. This role involves acting as both an analyst and a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for integrations with key customers, vendors, and external platforms. The primary focus will be on the implementation and ongoing support of three key areas: EDI/FTP integrations, web services/API integrations, and the automation of current manual inbound data submissions. This position also requires occasional development work in these areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary engineer and SME for system integrations with key stakeholders.
- Deliver functional and technical design documents across various logistics-driven processes and teams.
- Effectively communicate designs and solutions in multiple forums to various audiences, relating technical solutions to business initiatives.
- Manage third-party integration relationships to ensure quality-driven value.
- Implement and support EDI/FTP integrations, ensuring seamless data exchange.
- Design, develop, and maintain middleware business processes, including process orchestrations.
- Develop and maintain web services/API integrations to enhance system connectivity, including the implementation of web API security standards such as OAuth, mutual authentication, and basic authentication.
- Automate manual inbound data submission processes to improve efficiency.
- Manage and maintain integration mappings and processes, including testing and troubleshooting in middleware tools, Azure App Services, and various technical landscapes.
- Implement various EDI-based transactions, including customer onboarding, file or API integrations, and logistical technical interactions.
- Collaborate with data services and operations teams to propose solutions and reduce or mitigate integration data errors.
- Work with IT and Business Intelligence team members to establish effective process monitoring and reporting to meet and maintain integration and data quality SLAs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing integrations.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in integration technologies.
- Represent the company in an external-facing role during customer onboarding and third-party integration project discussions.
- Design and implement various B2B solutions across multiple channels.
Required Skills/Experience
- Proficiency with various file types, including EDI X12, JSON, and XML.
- Minimum of 3 years of technical EDI development experience, including onboarding, mapping, and testing in a direct-connected environment.
- At least 2 years of business analysis experience in API web services and web application integrations.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure Web/App Services, including configuring, integrating, and governing.
Helpful Additional Skills/Experience
- Experience in the logistics/transportation industry, particularly in trucking, ocean carrier/port operations, or distribution.
- Ability to function as project manager for integration development and new onboarding projects.
- Experience in trucking, ocean carrier/port operations, distribution, or other logistics/transportation industry.
- Ability to develop and/or support .NET applications supporting EDI, API, and other integration processes.
- Experience in developing .net (c#) framework or java (1.8 or better) a plus.
- Ability to write SQL scripts in support of data analysis and reporting efforts.
- Experience with Dell Boomi or other enterprise middleware tool.
- Experience in Azure Dev ops.
- Experience with Agile project management lifecycle and SCRUM a plus.
