About the Job
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.
- Experience in designing across multiple platforms (for e.g. Web, iOS, Android, Wearables, etc.) and bringing features from concept to launch.
- Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link and/or access instructions).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
- Experience in building user experience, including designing frameworks, prototyping and user research.
- Experience in designing, implementing, or evolving design frameworks.
- Experience in interaction design and product thinking, with visual design skills.
- Understanding of designing within 3D environments or with 3D design technologies (Unreal, Unity, etc.).

Google Maps is a well established and highly respected product within Google. The team is constantly evolving the map to ensure we are meeting the needs of people around the world. In this role, you will be responsible for building key features of the consumer maps cartographic experience.
The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.
- Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.
- Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.
- Advocate for the prioritization of design centered changes, refinements, and improvements.
