About the Job
Vaco Detroit has been exclusively engaged by an Oakland County organization to identify an Interim Controller. As the Interim Controller, you will be responsible for creating and posting journal entries and accruals, completing account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. In addition, the Interim Controller will be responsible for completing month-end close, including ensuring all payables and receivables are properly accounted for and entered. The Interim Controller will also be responsible for financial statement preparation, as well as performing financial analysis and providing financial reporting for construction in progress.
The ideal Interim Controller must have 10+ years progressive accounting and finance experience. In addition, the ideal consultant must have hands-on journal entry and general ledger experience, as well as experience completing month-end close and providing financial reports. Experience applying construction accounting and job costing is required. The ideal candidate must have prior large ERP experience such NetSuite or Sage Intacct, and strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, etc. Advanced Excel experience including macros and PowerBI are highly preferred but not required. A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent are required. Advanced degrees or certifications, i.e. CPA or CMA, preferred but not required.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
