Interim Senior Accountant

Our client, a rapidly-growing renewable energy company, is seeking an Interim Senior Accountant. This fully remote role requires working PST hours and involves a mix of accounting and operational duties within the Revenue Accounting team. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with several entities that lease solar energy systems to residential homeowners. This engagement is likely to last up to a year, with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile to ensure customers are properly invoiced and revenue is accounted for accurately.
• Address customer disputes or queries relating to invoices by researching and revising billed amounts as necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting AR & Revenue accounting operations.
• Work with independent auditors to support audited financial statements and assist with quarterly and annual SOX controls.
• Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from sources such as Oracle and Salesforce.
• Assist in timely and accurate AR sub-ledger close and month-end close.
• Participate in projects and other ad hoc accounting duties as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience; public accounting experience preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience.
• Familiarity with operating and reporting structures and financial policies and procedures.
• Experience in a big data environment, handling workbooks with hundreds of thousands of lines of data.
• Systems-savvy with strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.) and experience with Oracle R12 or other tier 1 ERP systems.
• Knowledge of ASC 606 is a plus.
