What We Are Looking For:
Aleto Inc. is seeking to hire an Interior Designer/Architect at one of its Government Client’s sites in Falls Church, VA will develop furniture acquisition documentation within contract vehicles such as GSA schedules, Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), or full and open competition. We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic individual to fill the role of Workplace Strategist, Space Planner, and Project Manager. This role combines expertise in workplace strategy, space planning, and project management to create and implement innovative, efficient, and effective workplace environments. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design, strong project management skills, and a deep understanding of how space impacts organizational productivity and employee satisfaction.
Interview Process
If you are selected for an interview, you’ll be contacted for an interview through Google Meet or by telephone. The process averages 3 weeks from initial contact to interview. After all candidates are interviewed, Aleto will notify you of your application status.
If an offer is extended, the start date is determined by availability and the amount of time it takes for the government background clearance process (depending on the client).
Interior Designer/Architect-Essential Job Duties
Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Apply analytical techniques in the evaluation of acquisitions in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Performs fair and reasonableness assessments of price and technical acceptability of vendor technical proposals.
- Develop and maintain trust with the client and the team to provide excellent real property and master planning and analysis support.
- Display an in-depth understanding of both sides of the acquisition and contract lifecycle.
- Understand IDIQs, BPAs, sole source procurements, and GWACs.
- Understand furniture concepts and design intent drawings.
- Can translate the content of drawings into narratives for scope of work and performance works statement documents.
- Assist in planning and preparing acquisition packages for furniture and equipment provisioning as well as transition and relocation services.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel and have full command of the scope of work in the acquisition packages.
- Assists the client in enforcing the terms of awarded acquisition actions.
- Propose standardization across new and re-used equipment.
- Assemble cut sheets and associated documentation.
- Collect manufacturer’s warranties and instructions as part of the acquisition.
- Provide logistical support and contract management support.
- Accomplish all tasks appropriately assigned or requested.
Workplace Strategy:
- Develop and implement comprehensive workplace strategies that align with the client’s goals and objectives.
- Analyze current workplace performance using varied methodologies and recommend improvements to enhance productivity, employee satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to incorporate into workplace strategies.
- Communicate results to a diverse group of stakeholders and ensure prompt communication to ensure understanding and implementation.
Space Planning:
- Conduct space needs assessments and develop space planning solutions that optimize the use of office space.
- Create detailed space plans, including layout designs, furniture arrangements, and workflow optimization.
- Ability to think strategically, multiple years into the future on facility utilization and workforce prediction.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and contractors to ensure that space plans are executed accurately and efficiently.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage workplace-related projects from inception to completion, including office relocations, renovations, and new construction.
- Collaborate to develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and manage risks to ensure successful project delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status, milestones, and outcomes.
- Facilitate meetings and presentations to gather input and provide recommendations.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all space planning and workplace strategies comply with relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Implement practices that promote a safe and healthy work environment.
ALETO JOB DUTIES
- Compliance with all Aleto processes, standards, and guidelines including utilizing the employee and intranet platforms, entering time daily, submitting expense reports, providing monthly progress reports, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance, current clearance preferred
- Familiarity with government contracted work & government client support, DOD work preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, Facilities Management, Workplace Planning, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Extensive professional experience in workforce planning, strategic planning, and layout & design of large-scale, multi-building complexes/campuses.
- Understanding of workplace planning, hoteling, and diverse applications of data in making space reduction/utilization decisions.
- Professional certification (e.g., LEED, PMP, NCIDQ) is a plus.
- Proven experience (typically 5 years) in workplace strategy, space planning, and project management.
- Strong understanding of workplace design principles, space optimization, and project management methodologies; able to articulate knowledge to diverse audiences
- Understanding of design and space planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of furniture fixtures and equipment presentation materials. Past experience with a furniture dealer is a plus.
- Systems furniture for government and/or medical offices; Highly proficient reader of plans/blueprints.
- Proven track record of success supporting federal clients preferred.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering commercial interiors for the federal government in both owned and leased buildings preferred.
Technological Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel mastery and ability to present off of these mediums is an absolute must
- The ability to learn, comprehend, and analyze data and reports from IWMS systems (IE Archibus, FM Systems, Builder SMS, ) is required, previous experience with an IWMS system preferred

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to executive personnel

Environment and Physical Conditions
