Responsibilities:
· Develop understanding of auditing and inspections through shadowing and assisting inspectors
· Develop understanding of inland Marine logistics and commercial activities through shadowing Marine Logistics & Commercial Schedulers and Business Development Representatives in Findlay
· Develop understanding of inland Marine harbor, line-haul, and tankering services operations and shipyard management through shadowing Operations and MRF personnel in Catlettsburg
· Develop understanding of the overall inland Marine industry and MPC Marine’s business through exposure to the Marine Leadership Team
· Intern could expect to conduct visits to various vessels, marine terminals, as well as shipyards/repair facilities, and other MPC office locations
· Perform and or assist with administrative duties such as filing of documents, data entry, meeting attendance to record minutes, preparing weekly notes/reports, updating forms/documents
· Potential: develop understanding of Loss Control through shadowing Loss Control Specialists in Garyville.
· Develop an understanding of applicable regulations, safety management systems, and compliance program implementation across Marine assets.
Qualifications:
· Desired majors are as follows: maritime concentration or other related fields of study.
· Strong academic performance
· Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
· A valid driver's license is required (travel may be involved with some positions).
· Military experience a plus
· Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program
