The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
This Development Coordinator position offers an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of event planning and implementation, volunteer management, and community outreach. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies. The internships offer the opportunity to further develop communication and presentation skills, and experience skills in team collaboration and customer service.

Internship Overview:
- Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
- Internship Duration: 1/21/25-5/2/25
- Location: Remote position in Orlando/Central Florida
- Salary: $23 per hour
Internship Outcomes:
Individuals participating in the internship program are provided with an opportunity to:

- Complete an internship that enriches your academic and professional resume as well as enriching your personal life by making a difference in the lives of others.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with pre-event Heartwalk tasks, including managing teams/participants in a software
- Assist with Socials Day-of-event operations, including guest check-in/checkout and sales and assist with Socials guest registration management.
- Assist with updating auction item entry and management.
- Participate in weekly meetings to provide updates on assigned projects or
- Opportunity to learn and be involved in event timeline tracking and reconciliation process.
- Opportunity to run/create reports and data analysis.
- Senior or graduate level college or university student studying Hospitality Management, Event Management, Non-profit Business Management, Business Administration.
- Demonstrated excellence in written communications.
- Beyond the basic Excel experience preferred.
- Ability to interact professionally in a corporate, non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding communications and projects from inception through completion.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities with strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Required Equipment: Reliable Wi-Fi Connection.
- Minimum availability of 20 hrs./wk., Monday-Friday.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
