Responsibilities
- Become familiar with the process controls and automation initiatives and challenges across the site and collaboratively identify project opportunities best aligned to skills
- Research methods to execute on project and propose solutions with recommendation on path forward
- Develop Proof of Concept (POC) prototypes for new programs and/or electromechanical systems within the project.
- Generate suitable up-front documentation to demonstrate understanding of functionality with appropriate consideration for safety and use, as needed.
- Procure, assemble, and test hardware as needed, following all test plans generated in the development phase.
- Document and communicate all results in a clear, concise format.
- Support hand-off to production team or provide guidance on path to production use.
Requirements
- Engineering major, preferably electrical
- Ability to work creatively in multi-disciplinary teams and strive for innovative solutions
- Experience in circuit design and analysis a must
- Experience programming in some combination of C#, .NET, Python, LabView, or other standard industrial protocol a major plus
- Experience with programmable logic (PLC) or deterministic controllers a strong plus
- Strong analytical skills a plus
- Citizen or permanent resident
