Intern, Flight Ops - SFB (Spring 2025) - Allegiant Air

Summary

The Allegiant Flight Operations internship offers a challenging and unique experience for aviation students. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience through the opportunity to observe and learn the daily activities of a Part 121 Air Carrier. Shadow flight operations personnel and have the opportunity to interact with many departments at Allegiant, including: Flights Operations, Flight Training, Flight Operations Standards/Safety, Fleet Managers, Systems Operational Control, Crew Services, Stations and Maintenance. This role will be directly involved in projects and assignments that will affect the operations of the airline.

Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check.

Preferred Requirements

•Be computer literate and proficient in utilizing Word and Excel programs.

•Multi-engine Commercial Instrument Airplane FAA License a plus.

Job Duties

•Assist with special projects in flight related departments.

•Assist with the development of communications.

•Assist in developing Flight Operations related manuals.

•Compile and update reports, graphs, and other presentations.

•Inter-departmental duties as assigned.

•Observe the coordination between the Flight Crew, the In-flight Crew, and the Ground Crew.

•Perform entry level flight related duties.

•Perform flight safety data analysis.

•Process requests from other departments.

•Read and process safety reports.

•Other duties as assigned.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
