Job Title: Business Office Intern

Position reports to: Human Resource Generalist

Job Classification: Non-exempt

Job Summary

Provide entry-level work experience in the administrative field while learning internal processes for the purpose of future development and process changes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Serve as front desk point of contact (POC) for EGS Headquarters – Birmingham, AL
• Able to communicate with clients to answer questions and resolve issues.
• Additionally, support group with full meeting facilitation that includes arranging of onsite and offsite meetings, catering, room setup and agendas.
• Provide support to all department staff members as needed.
• Sort, distribute, and collect incoming/outgoing mail
• Answer phones, perform routine data entry, filing, copying and other clerical tasks
• Completing tasks assigned by a supervisor/manager and attending meetings as needed to take minutes.
• Assist in conference booth set up, travel is needed.
• Operating various administrative duties as needed.
• Construct inventory for all office and breakroom supplies.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
• Work Office Hours from 8:00am-5:00pm
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice up to 50%.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
• Excellent communication and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to make professional decisions and work as a team.
• Ability to process and analyze data.

Job Conditions

• Business casual attire is required: EGS attire, Slacks or business dress pants, knee-length skirts, jeans without holes, knee length or maxi dresses, button-down shirts, sweaters, blouses, polo shirts. Optional: blazers, cardigans, or sport coats. Professional accessories such as scarves, belts, or jewelry.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift.
• Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
