About the Job
JOB OBJECTIVE: Apply principles of cell culture, differentiation, and maintenance to support the ongoing projects and responsibilities of the iPS Cell Culture and 3D Cellular Models.
This is a 1 year internship with a start date of January or May 2025
CORE DUTIES:
1. Cell Cultivation and Project Assistant: Assist with routine iPS cell culture maintenance, neural differentiation, and 3D cellular model preparation.
2. Cell Line Monitoring: Participate in quality control of cell cultures, and other routine assays to monitor cell health, pluripotency and differentiation.
3. Media and Reagent Preparation: Prepare and maintain media and reagents for stem cell culture, differentiation protocols, and 3D culture systems.
4. Assay Support: Support repetitive assays, including preparing and dispensing reagents for cell characterization and monitoring.
5. Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate records of all experiments, protocols, and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance with lab standards.
6. Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team, contributing to ongoing experiments, projects, and lab maintenance to ensure a productive and collaborative environment.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role.
2. Past or concurrent participation in the Stem Cell Technologies Certificate of Madison College.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Understanding of aseptic technique.
2. Understanding of cell cultivation principles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Remain stationary at a biological safety cabinet for minutes to hours.
2. Move around a cell culture laboratory.
3. Ability to position oneself in low positions.
