Nature and Scope
While this position falls within the Human Resources team, it interacts with teammates from Human Resources, Learning & Performance, and Community Development to promote initiatives that enhance wellbeing for our members and employees. Interns will work with Allegacy during summer 2024, working a flexible schedule of approximately 10 to 15 hours per week depending on the needs of the business, and will earn $15 - $20 per hour.
Specific Accountabilities
- Assist in gathering feedback from employees through surveys, through active listening, or open-ended questions as needed for data research
- Pull data and analyze reports through data collection from various HR related software to identify trends of employee experiences, and help to create metrics moving forward
- Ensure thorough understanding of expectations and consistently exhibit Allegacy core behaviors of care, collaborate, grow, and serve
- Learn about the mission side of credit unions, the principles of diversity and inclusion in credit union work, and how the mission and principles impact the diverse communities that credit unions serve and the overall employee experience
- Support Allegacy’s Human Resources projects and initiatives
- Engage with the Diversity Council, providing input on upcoming events, programs, projects, and plans
- Assist Human Resources team on projects related to the HRIS conversion as needed
- Assist in the New Employee Orientation presentation and be able to assist with newly hired employees
- Provide input and articles for the quarterly Diversity Newsletter and the weekly employee newsletter and Wellness newsletter

- Assist Employee Resource Groups with events, meetings and activities
- Engage with other high school interns in Winston-Salem and Charlotte to network and collaborate on joint projects
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Best suited to students interested in pursuing careers in DE+I, Human Resources, Business Operations, Communication, and Community Engagement. Strong organization, time management, and communication skills are preferred. The successful candidate will have a command of Microsoft Office, an outgoing personality, and the ability to work independently.
