This position is a paid internship located in Bloomington, Spencer, or Ellettsville Indiana. This position includes a housing stipend, 401(k), fitness center access, learning events, capstone presentation, and more. All Co-op positions are assigned a direct mentor and each position provides real-world experience with meaningful projects in the Medical Device Manufacturing Industry.
Responsibilities:As a Statistics Intern, you'll be diving deep into the heart of medical manufacturing, ensuring the efficacy and reliability of our products. You’ll be a part of our data analytics and statistics team, working on high-level inference and drawing powerful conclusions that will shape the future of medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Statistics: Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify areas of improvement, and assist in implementing statistical methods to increase quality and efficiency.
- Advanced Inference: Work with cutting-edge statistical techniques to derive insights from complex data sets, directly impacting medical research and development.
- Collaboration: Partner with a diverse team of experts across multiple functions, including engineering, production, and R&D.
- Data Visualization: Create compelling visual presentations to convey statistical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others
- Passion for statistics and data analysis
- Basic understanding of statistical tools and techniques; preferred minimum of 2 statistics courses
- Strong communication skills and ability to present complex data simply
- Focus area of study in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or related field
- Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
- All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
- Multiple disciplines will be considered (e.g., Marketing, Life Sciences, General Business, and Management)
