What You'll Be Doing:The Internal Audit Intern will perform operational, financial, and compliance audits of various internal departments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the organization's governance, risk management process, system of internal control, and quality of performance in carrying out assigned responsibilities in order to achieve the organization's stated goals and objectives.
This internship opportunity provides a hands on experience in internal auditing and offers exposure to various aspects of risk management, compliance, and internal controls. The Internal Audit Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and develop a comprehensive understanding of the audit function by assisting in drafting audit work programs and performs testing, document preparation and research.
What We're Looking For:
- Learn various job functions within the Financial Services industry.
- Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects.
- Research various legal, regulatory, and other topics within functional area and industry.
- Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies.
- Assist in preparation of reports.
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the
strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. - Demonstrated understanding of basic risk and internal control concepts.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions,
conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field with at least 1 year completed preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
