Position Summary:
The Internal Auditor at The Timothy Initiative plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's financial integrity, compliance with regulations, and adherence to internal policies and procedures. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to TTI's mission by safeguarding its resources and promoting accountability and transparency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Reporting Audits: Support Controller in conducting comprehensive audits of TTI's financial records, transactions, and processes to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
- Risk Assessment: Support the Controller to identify and assess potential risks related to financial operations, governance, and internal controls, proposing measures to mitigate risks and strengthen internal controls.
- Internal Controls: Support and Assist in the implementation of the effectiveness of TTI's internal control systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, minimize errors, and prevent fraud or misuse of funds.
- Documentation and Reporting: Report and document findings, observations, and recommendations, and present findings to the Controller and CFO.
- Process Documentation: In collaboration with the CFO and relevant department heads, document and streamline internal processes, monitoring controls, and implement best business practices.
- Training and Awareness: In partnership with the CFO and Controller, provide on as needed basis, continuous training and guidance to TTI staff on financial policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and adherence to standards.
- Administrative Support: provided to the CFO as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Education and Experience:
- Attention to detail a MUST.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus. Previous related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
- Experience in the usage of computers required and advanced knowledge of web-based systems preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Passion for The Timothy Initiative’s Mission.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and trust.
- Able to prioritize and multi-task, using good time management skills in a fast-paced environment; Strong organizational skills a must.
- Develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, work instructions, software manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Solid written and oral communication skills and excellent phone manners. Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in TTI’s Vision, Values, and Mission in all internal and external communication and relationships.
- Administrative writing, reporting & tracking skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and Word processing.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact with various levels within the organization worldwide including Senior Management and Team Leaders.
- Possesses a helpful, diplomatic, and caring attitude to all; must be hospitable and have good people skills to represent TTI.

Spiritual Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position the Team Member:
- Is required to work in our main office in Raleigh, NC and/or remotely as needed as defined by the Americas Operations Director (AOD) and Human Resource Manager.
- Is occasionally required to work nights and weekends as needed and may be occasionally required to travel domestically and internationally.
- Is regularly required to talk or hear.
- Will need to use hands or fingers and handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
