Hours: Full-Time 35 hours per week
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000

The Internal Communications Associate is a key member of the Brooklyn Community Service (BCS) Advancement
Team. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Communications, this role manages internal platforms, drafts staff
communications, and supports company-wide initiatives to ensure consistent messaging and employee
engagement.
Responsibilities
-Launch, Manage, and Publish BCS’s Internal Newsletter, collaborating with Program Directors, Human Resources, and the Advancement Team to gather and implement editions that embody BCS's spirit.
-Support BCS's intranet launch and ongoing management, ensuring it is a central hub for internal
communications.
-Draft and support staff communications for internal announcements, campaigns, initiatives, staff projects, and internal events.
-Collaborate with the Communications and Outreach Associate to collect content, compile, and deliver relevant information from internal communications to an external audience when relevant. Contribute where needed to the website, blogs, and copy content. This role will require occasional travel to program sites (across Brooklyn) to help take photos and support content collection/story creation.
-Support the Advancement Team in an administrative capacity, helping manage ongoing projects, schedule emails and lists, organize media assets like photos and materials, and fulfill other copywriting/project management needs.
-Assist Human Resources-led committees, such as the Wellness Committee and DEI Committee, with internal announcements, communications, and branding support.
Qualifications Required:
-Bachelor’s degree
-Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is preferred.
-Experience using Emma or another Email Service Provider is preferred
-1-2 years of communications experience in the nonprofit sector
-Expert written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and the ability to present to diverse audiences
-Proven mastery of writing for various platforms, print and online
-Excellent attention to detail
-Strong project management skills
-Demonstrated ability to problem-solve
-Demonstrated understanding of data metrics and how to generate, read, and use data reports to inform strategies and decision-making
-Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
-Experience with website CMS is preferred, especially WordPress
