Repoting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, the Senior Analyst of Internal Controls and Inventory will ensure that the Company’s internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively. In doing so, the senior analyst will partner and collaborate with various finance and non-finance Graham employees to continue to improve the Company’s internal control governance
Additionally, this role will work closely with financial reporting, FP&A and other business leaders to provide annual planning, technical accounting and financial support. The ideal candidate should be an experienced accountant, who is technically strong, but is also a self-starter, collaborative and able to manage/prioritize competing responsibilities.
Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Assistant Corporate Controller to ensure the Company’s Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (“ICOFR”) are operating effectively, including control enhancements and improvements on a world-wide basis.
- Drive the continuous improvement of the ICOFR including communicating updates with all control owners on a worldwide basis.
- Manage the annual update of process narratives and key policies, working directly with the process owners to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit to understand control deficiencies, including status, reporting and remediation. This includes participating in all audit completion calls.
- Lead the annual SOC-1 review process, including working directly with service provider owner to remediate any issues.
- Build and maintain relationships with both our internal audit function and external audit partner.
- Partner with Financial Reporting team to manage the annual external audit to ensure it is completed timely and in a quality manner.
- Develop robust monthly inventory reporting that provides clear and concise explanation of variances by Business Unit, taking into account resin, other material costs, conversion costs and volume, in support of the Company’s continuous working capital improvement processes.
- Lead the monthly inventory accounting for certain standard to actual costs.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required.
- CPA preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, with a background in public accounting preferred.
- Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley preferred.
- Experience with global manufacturing preferred.
- Highly proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook).
- SAP and Hyperion/HFM are a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and data-manipulation skills.
- Effective communication skills – both interpersonal and written.
- Team player, ability and willingness to collaborate with various members of the organization.
- Ability to identify and balance competing priorities.
- Ability to maintain a consistently high level of attention to detail.
Compensation Statement:The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States.
