CARE | Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is a privately owned 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital in Charlotte, NC that offers its employees a fun company culture, supportive work environment, excellent benefits, and opportunities for growth! Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is seeking experienced veterinary technicians for our busy Internal Medicine (IM) Service. IM Technicians are responsible for facilitating client consultations, maintaining daily charting/charges for emergency transfers or hospitalized patients, facilitating in-house procedures, and more. Efficiency and attention to detail are imperative. At CARE, IM technicians work side by side with board-certified Internists using advanced equipment such as CT, endoscopy, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy! The case load on the IM service can be large, and CARE is looking for technicians that are able to multitask and prioritize their responsibilities on a busy day.

Shifts Available:
- 10 hour day-time shift
- Rotating holidays and weekends will be required
- Overtime available
Requirements:
- High School Degree or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience is required
- RVTs are preferred but not required
- Detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Proficient with technology including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers, and digital radiology
- Ability to lift 40lbs unassisted
- Ability to safely restrain patients for extended periods of time
- Critical thinking
- Emotional Intelligence
- Willingness to learn
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Internist in all aspects of care
- Intaking and discharging patients for hospitalization and/or procedures
- Providing advanced nursing care to patients with compassion
- Performing venipuncture (jugular, cephalic, saphenous)
- IV Catheter placement
- Performing automated and manual laboratory analysis
- Digital radiology
- Performing medical calculations
- Inducing anesthesia, endotracheal intubation, and monitoring anesthesia
- Educating clients on patient disease processes and care
- Providing compassionate customer service to our clients
