BRIEF DESCRIPTION: INTERNAL EMPLOYEE ONLY
Assistant Facilities Manager is a field working supervisor that works directly under the Facilities Director/Facilities Manager or designee to perform responsible supervisory, hands-on work involving the assignment, direct supervision of Facilities staff and on an as needed basis for custodial employees in maintaining Eddy County facilities, to include but not limited to: maintenance, repair and care of buildings, grounds, offices, classrooms, furnishings and equipment as well as building entrances and exterior walkways owned or under control, care and custody of the county. The Assistant Facilities Manager undertakes the responsibilities of the Facilities Manager during any absence. Employee must be able to work independently and perform all duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. The Assistant Facilities Manager is also responsible for training new employees in proper maintenance, repair procedures, various tools, equipment, and supplies relating to the care of County facilities. Assistant Facilities Manager will be the primary point of contact for state agencies that occupy Eddy County owned facilities and ensure consistent levels of services at all facilities open to the public. Administrative duties will be determined during the candidates training. This position requires a on-call for a period of one week and split amongst the number of team members. The position will require off hours call - out for emergencies and assistance. The Department Head will make effort to limit the after-hours duties.
