Job Description:
The Nutrition Services IPC Coordinator will provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational responsibility for the internal process control functions within Nutrition Services. This role will encompass both clinical nutrition and culinary services aspects to ensure the highest standards of the provision of medical nutrition therapy and care and safest food services are met. The IPC Coordinator will be part of the Nutrition Leadership Team and work closely with various facilities, departments, agencies, and shared services, to develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and guidelines that enhance patient care and culinary excellence.
Essential Functions:
+ Clinical Nutrition Program:
+ Develop and implement standard care processes in Nutrition Services that span the continuum of patient care.
+ Communicate with Nutrition Services leadership, facility directors and managers, department managers, and frontline caregivers to identify high-priority clinical conditions that impact the quality and cost of care.
+ Ensure adherence to evidence-based best practices and implement corrective action plans when necessary.
+ Perform field-based visits to facilities and clinics to provide feedback and ensure operational responses are followed to completion.
+ Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance electronic medical record functionality pertinent to Nutrition Services.
+ Ensure consistent standards and quality to meet federal, state and Joint Commission standards.
+ Culinary Services Program:
+ Develop and maintain a systematic approach to assess adherence to culinary standards, including food safety, quality, and presentation.
+ Work closely with culinary teams to implement best practices and ensure consistent food service across all facilities.
+ Establish positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and culinary staff to promote an integrated health care team approach.
+ Develop strategies to train culinary staff in care process model implementation and recognize best practices.
+ Ensure consistent standards and quality to meet state and local food safety standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience working in an integrated healthcare delivery system, preferably in a leadership role.
+ Extensive experience in clinical nutrition and culinary arts with a strong background in patient care.
+ Working knowledge of nutrition-related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
+ Effective data assimilation and synthesis skills.
+ Experience in facilitating the instruction and motivation of others.
+ Registered Dietitian credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
+ Certified Dietitian in the State of Utah.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree or higher in nutrition or a related health care field of study. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
+ Formal training and/or certification in continuous improvement.
