The International Compliance Specialist role has the responsibility for international sales order processing, export documentation and customer satisfaction. The International Compliance Specialist will develop expertise in export document compliance andin understanding the import requirements of different countries. The International Compliance Specialist will also work to maximize customer satisfaction and increase team efficiency. The International Compliance Specialist will additionally work to develop successful relationships with customers and other MSG employees cross-functionally to provide outstanding customer service. This will be accomplished by maintaining a high level of organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Responsible for obtaining and/or creating required international documents accurately and in a timely manner to meet any deadlines which may include:
- Letters of Credit (review and communications with bank)
- Ocean vessel sailing schedules.
- Foreign customs document requirements
- Export documents
- Maintain current updates on all in-process shipments for operational tracking purposes.
- Cross-train on all countries and all documents to allow proper backups across the international compliance team.
- Work closely with the international customer service team members to:
- Ensure all data and details related to international orders are up to date.
- Notify appropriate internal and external parties of any sales order changes.
- Take ownership of international shipments after container loading
- Stay up to date on countries’ import requirements.
- International Customer correspondence
- Less than 24-hour response to customer requests and inquiries
- Information gathering from internal and external as needed to process orders.
- Collaboration with QA, Sales, Account Managers, Plant teams as needed to best serve the customers’ orders.
- Processing for customer complaints regarding compliance issues.
- Complete export documents requests for other business units when required.
- Develop and maintain a sound working relationship with others in Sales as well as other customer service team.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Service and continuous improvement oriented.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management, attention to detail, communication, and team collaboration skills.
Customer service and international shipping experience preferred.
English and second language fluency.
Experience with export compliance with food or feed ingredients.
Excel proficiency and programming experience.
