The Water & Natural Resources and Community Development groups in the Boston area are looking for a civil engineering intern to help work on various projects shared between the two groups. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to gain multidisciplinary experience in a hybrid role!
Our internship program is a 12 week paid summer program. We offer in depth work experience on real client projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. The position is full-time Monday through Friday and may sit in Boston, MA or Quincy, MA.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of site plans, which includes detailed site design utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D consisting of layout, grading, utilities, and erosion and sediment controls
- Assist in the design of stormwater management systems using software such as HydroCAD and StormCAD
- Assist in report and permit writing activities
- Conduct field work and site inspections
- Assist with spatial analysis (using ArcGIS) and the preparation of mapping desirable
- Assist with the review of current and projected climate conditions and related hazards related to climate resilience projects
- Assist with plan reviews and gap analysis documentation related to existing plans, permits, bylaws, and regulations
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Pursuing a degree in civil engineering and/or transportation engineering
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or similiar programs is a plus
- Knowledge of ArcGIS is a plus
- Proficiency with MS Office programs
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. of equipment
