ABOUT SUMMER 2024 INTERNSHIPS

The Kendo Brands Summer Internship is a paid 10 week Program focusing on an assigned project while being introduced to and fully integrated into the daily activities of your team. For Summer 2024, our program will be hybrid from our downtown San Francisco Office. Interns will work from home every Monday and Friday, and will come into the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Interns will get the opportunity to explore a department and learn about developing a career at a beauty brand incubator. Our program will include exposure to senior leadership, networking opportunities, and regular check ins on internship status. Interns will also get an opportunity to learn more about LVMH and how Kendo fits into the LVMH family.

Applications for the 2024 Internship Program will be open from February 8th to February 23rd. Salary for all internships will be $23/hour. Qualified Candidates must be rising juniors, seniors, or 2024 graduates of an accredited college or university. You must be legally authorized to work in the US and able to work 3 days a week in our downtown San Francisco Office. Candidates must be able to work either June 3rd to August 16th or June 24th to September 6th.

SUMMARY

As a Photo Assistant & Image Retouching Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our photography workflow and help the final images meet our standards. The ideal candidate will have experience with Capture One for on set asset management and possess some Photoshop skills, including clipping paths, color correction, general non-destructive clean up.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist photographer during photoshoots by setting up equipment, managing lighting, and ensuring a smooth workflow.
• Use Capture One for efficient tethering, photo organization, asset naming per convention and basic adjustments.
• Organization of digital files to be delivered to designers or requestors.
• Execute image retouching using Photoshop, with a focus on clipping paths, color correction, and overall quality
• Collaborate with photographer to understand project requirements and deliver retouched images within established timelines
• Ensure consistency in style and quality across all retouched images.

REQUIREMENTS

• Interest in gaining experience as a Photo Assistant and Image Retoucher.
• Basic understanding of camera functions, settings, and controls, like f-stop, shutter speed, depth of field, types of lenses, etc.
• Basic understanding of lighting techniques and equipment, strobe heads, power packs, grids, diffusion, c-stands, sandbags, etc.
• Basic knowledge of Apple OS and Capture One, batch renaming, organization, outputting files to specific crops and resolutions, etc.
• Basic understanding of non-destructive processes in Adobe Photoshop, specifically in clipping paths, layers and masks, dust clean up, and color correction
• Interest in video a plus! Some video/livestream requests come through so adaptability and willingness to try new things and experiment is welcome
• Willingness to learn by doing and work as part of a team
• A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of composition and aesthetics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering high-quality visual content.
