Projects previous Interns have worked on:
- Salvage Pickup Process: In today’s network it is common practice for drivers to pick up salvage from their last store delivery and return that trailer (whether it is full or only one pallet) to TRC/RGC. This limits the ability for H-E-B drivers to proactively plan on backhaul trips (fully loaded trailers of sellable product) after delivery to stores. This also generates more partially filled salvage trailers that ultimately need to be worked by TRC/RGC in order to create empty trailers for other work.
- Unloading Efficiency: Determine efficiency for unloading pallets with the utilization of a forklift or Single Pallet Jack. Create an operating plan for unloading single loaded or double stacked pallets to reduce potential breakdown or buildup and improve timing.
